From my hands to my mouth...

That is what happens to everything Isaac touches now. He will grab a toy and stick it in his mouth to taste. I guess it won't be long and we will have to "Isaac proof" the house.

Isaac got a new toy last week, an exersaucer. Isaac loves it! He loves that he can stand upright and look outside. Plus there are tons of fun toys to stick in his mouth!

Of course there is one toy that scared him a little when he first played with it. Zach was showing him how to play with it and Isaac didn't like the sound it made.

Of course, Isaac now plays with that toy...he just yells at it before he hits it. Speaking of yelling, Isaac has found his voice. It it not uncommon for Isaac to lay on the floor and jabber to himself. He gets pretty excited and we laugh at all the funny noises he makes. I will have to get a video of him chattering and post it at a later date.
Isaac had his 4 month shots last week. He did well for the first few days but then showed his bad side for the next 4. He wouldn't sleep and was very irritable. Our poor babysitter had to take him for a day as well. I think she's glad it was the shots and not normal behavior. I know I am!

That was then...

And this is now...It's amazing how Isaac fills up the car seat now compared to when he came home from the hospital! He's 4 months old today and about 10 pounds heavier than when he was born. Everyone tells us how content he is and they are right...most of the time. :)

This next picture is Isaac in our dishpan. We gave him his first bath in this little "tub." We thought the picture would be funny! He definitely doesn't fit now!

Isaac goes for his 4 month shots on Wednesday. I hope he does well because on Thursday he has to go to the babysitter. Our friend who regularly watches him injured her knee so I've been bouncing him around to other people for the past few weeks. The lady who will watch him Thursday is also watching a little girl who is 3 weeks younger than Isaac. Hopefully Isaac will be the angel everyone says he is! If not, he will probably have to come to work with me. It's nice to have flexibility to bring him but I am not as productive when he's there.

I hope you have enjoyed some of the more recent posts. I'm trying to blog more often but it's difficult when Isaac has to sit on my lap the entire time. He's very good at kicking the keyboard and messing me up! It's also an adventure to keep him balanced between my two arms. Sometimes I feel like I'm a pinball machine.

My baby is gowing so fast!

This week I've been thinking about how fast my baby is growing! It's hard not to want to hold him 24/7 because soon he will want to run and play instead of cudding with mommy. I also find myself staring at him when he sleeps. He looks so peaceful! Zach took a picture of Isaac sleeping on my chest the other day. Isn't he cute!

Isaac is also getting better about tummy time. He will lay for about 10 minutes before he starts to get angry. He's still hasn't tried to roll over since it scared him the other night. I did get a pretty good picture of tummy time the other day.

It's hard to believe that Isaac will turn 4 months on Monday. We go in for another round of shots next week. He did well with the first round so hopefully this will go as smooth. The rest of August and September look less busy and we are glad. Isaac will be dedicated on the 14th of September so our families will be around that weekend. We are looking forward to seeing them again.

3 month pictures

We've been pretty busy this past month traveling. Zach's 10 year reunion was 2 weekends ago. We had a really enjoyable time seeing his old classmates. Isaac did pretty well with Grandpa and Grandma Erickson and I know they loved spending time with him. We look forward to being home for the next few weeks.

Isaac has gone through a "no napping" phase recently. For a week straight the only time he slept was at night and maybe a 20 minute nap during the day. I think he wore himself out because he does take longer naps and more frequently during the day. He is stretching his sleeping out at night too. I typically only get up once and I've had a few nights where he slept more than 8 hours. I had my first 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep the other night! What a blessing!

We had Isaac's 3 month pictures taken on July 25th. He hadn't had a nap all day so we were pretty lucky to have such good pictures. We took him to Portrait Innovations and they did a great job. Below are the poses we choose.

He got pretty crabby half way through and gave us his signature "lip." We think this is so funny!

Isaac weighs approximately 17-18 pounds now. That is unofficial but we go back for his 4 month checkup next week so we will know for sure. He is such a good baby (except when he doesn't nap). We are so blessed and thankful for his presence in our lives. He is smiling more often and starting to laugh a little. What an amazing thing! We put him back in the water again Sunday night and he just loves it! Too bad it was a little chilly outside or we could have kept him in longer.

I put him on his tummy last night and he managed to roll over for the first time! It really scared him though and it took a while to calm him down. I don't know if he'll ever let me put him on his tummy again! He is more interested in sitting up like a big boy than rolling over.

For now, that's all I have. I'll try to post more often but I've said that before and look how good I do!
